Super Easy Minecraft necklace DIY

Hi!
I thought for my first DIY I would do something that is easily done and quick to make. I also incorporated a nerdy element by making it Minecraft themed!

You will need:
Perler/Hama beads
Ironing paper
Pegged Template
Thread.or String
An iron

All you need to do is chose an item/mob from Minecraft and use the perler beads as pixels! I made a rose and a torch which were really easy and only took me 15 minutes each.
Torch template

Rose template
Don't worry about it not looking enough like blocks yet it will come with the next step.
Now you need to use the ironing paper it should come with instructions but if not you can use mine.
Lay your template on a flat surface and place the paper over top, gently iron until every bead has melted together. Remove the paper and take your piece off the template (the white thing underneath my rose and torch) and flip your piece over then repeat on the other side.
Once every bead is joined you can thread something through the holes and use as a necklace or just hang it somewhere!
After Ironing
You can do it with anything with Minecraft like graphics, I made a space invader too!
Sorry about the slightly blurry picture, it was late and my camera is heavy :p
Hope you try it, let us know if you do!
Have fun

The banoffee pie palava and a missing Lizzy

Hi!
Firstly, i'd like to warn everyone that if this post is a little worse than our others it's because currently I'm running the blog alone for a week! Lizzy has gone for a trip down to Yorkshire, I won't say too much as I'm sure she has lot's to say about it when she get's back.

I've always had a secret love for baking and during our catering lesson we had to make a banoffee pie, which I was rather excited about. There's two sides to me when i'm baking, there's the "oh this has to be perfect and I can't have it any other way." and there's the "You know what, I might as well go mad with this."  Today was the latter. I hate bananas so my banoffe pie was quickly reduced to just offe pie. I then decided to just whip all of the cream instead of the desired amount. This led to lot's of sprayed cream, one white nose and plenty of mess. My biscuit base didn't have enough time to set so the bottom is just a clumpy mix of biscuit and caramel. I'm not complaining. Whilst whisking my cream I noticed someone had blue food colouring and I just had to dye my cream. My friend poured way too much colouring in and hers looks like a highlighter exploded several times in the cream. My dye of choice was blue which actually looks rather nice. I then just poured chocolate chips all over the cream but then realised I had to smooth the cream down so I just began to wing it and said that I made it so there was a chocolaty surprise. Finally I topped it off with more chocolate chips and strawberries.
Overall I think it's quite a successful no-banana Banoffee pie.
I hope I made Lizzy proud :D
I'll have a book haul up next Thursday since it's world book day for you so I look forward to that!

How to have the perfect Valentines day (when you're single).

Together we have compiled a list of the perfect things to do on  Valentines day when you're single.
1. Grab your favourite TV show or movie, stock up on popcorn, snuggle up in your favourite blanket and turn out the lights. Enjoy. (Sherlock and Supernatural are our favourites.)
2. Another one that requires the lights to be out is sleeping. Just sleep the day out, this is not your day.
3.Only joking, Treat yourself and a friend (or just you) to an at home spa day.
4.Light plenty of candles, put on some relaxing music and chill out in a nice hot bath. We also recommend some Lush bath bombs or bath salts.
5.Essential treats to accompany your smashing day are chocolate, ice-cream,marshmallows and lizzy's favourite, Haribo.

Enjoy your Valentines day if you're single or not! :)

Hola!

Hullo there, I am Lizzy. I'm from England, and 5 years ago I moved from Kent to Cambridgeshire, this is where I met some amazing friends, one of them was Amy. I am in one of my local girls football teams and I play right midfield, occasionally center mid.
My aim is to bring you all the sparkle and bits of our experiences to your interwebz page :D
Amy's turn :)
I'm Amy the co-owner of By The Luna Luma (which means by the moonlight by the way).
I love reading, writing, gaming and basketballing. I'm also normally glued to my earphones. My aim for this blog is to bring you book and gaming reviews and spark some creativity in you with my DIYS. c:
